Earth Day may have passed, but you can still do your part to save the environment. And it’s never too late to start eating smart. Twelve-year-old Koa Halpern, who started his own nonprofit organization, encourages everyone to eat healthier by boycotting fast food. Visit his organization Fast Food Free here and his blog post on Fooducate here. His aim is to encourage people to stay away from fast food, because it is better for our health AND the environment.
Try being “fast food free” for one month, week or day, because every bit helps. To keep it all in perspective, just imagine the destruction to the Earth. It takes “55 square feet of rainforest to make a single McDonald’s Quarter Pounder.” Before you call for 24-hour delivery from McDonald’s, think of how many rainforest trees you’ll save by being FAST FOOD FREE!
