As you all hopefully know by now the National Day holiday, also known as Golden Week, is just around the corner. This means nine full days of freedom to enjoy this beautiful weather we’ve been having.
With this time comes a variety of interesting dilemmas for the expat family residing in Beijing. What do we do? How do we keep our child entertained for a week so that mom and dad can spend a little quality time together without hearing “I’m bored” on loop? In answer to this question, here is a short list of great camps being offered throughout the week to keep the kids active and on the move.
October Holiday Camp for Kids: Adventure Camp, Sep 30-Oct 8
Kids 7+. This upcoming National Holiday, Imagine brings a new adventure for the little ones of the house (age 7+): Indoor ski, climbing, parkour, Civilization Game, and Adventure Park. This camp is the perfect choice for parents who want to stay in Beijing but are looking for outdoor activities that are creative and challenging at the same time. DCB Club Football Golden Week Skills Camp, Oct 2-6
Kids 4+. Whether you want to get messy, or be like Messi on the pitch, this soccer camp has what you need to keep your game sharp during the break. Featuring FA/UEFA qualified UK coaches, sessions will be held at the soccer field at Dulwich College Beijing’s Legend Garden Campus (or in the dome if the AQI is too high). The workshop will follow a daily theme, with the second half of each session focused on applying these new skills in match play situations. RMB 2,000 for Years R-2; RMB 3,000 Years 3-9. Atelier’s Workshop: Art Revolution!, Oct 2-6
Kids 5+. For this Golden Week art camp Atelier will be tackling the modern art movement known as Constructivism, made famous by the works of such luminaries as Malevich, Lissitzky, and Popova. They will be covering a wide variety of topics including Russian cinema, architecture, painting, and sculpture through practicing these abstract and sometimes experimental techniques in the studio.
