Canadian Sharon Hill is the client relations manager at Beijing United Family Hospital and her husband Eric Hill is an engineer at Beijing Services, Baker Hughes. The Hills have been living in Beijing for the past three years with their daughter Kristen (4) and son Joshua (2). With baby number three on the way, Sharon and her family took time out of their hectic day to let us in on their favorite family spots.
Favorite Snack
McDonald’s ice cream!
Family Ritual
On weekend mornings Kristen and I have a Mommy-daughterouting. We usually get our nails done at Yashow and go shopping or explore new shops. Last week, we went to Boulangerie Nanda Bakery. Meanwhile, Eric will usually bring Joshua to the pool in our complex or to the park.
Favorite Day Trip
We like to takes the kids out for a walk in the pram to Sanlitun Village from our home near Chaoyang Park. The trip takes about four hours – it’s good exercise.
Weekend Fun
We usually take the kids to a pool if we have a car. Last time, we went to the Sino-Swiss Hotel pool by the airport. We also went to the beijingkids Club pool party at Westin Chaoyang’s indoor pool.
Favorite Shopping Spot
Yahow has clothes for everyone. And Sunny Gold Market in Lido.
Family-Favorite Restaurant
Element Fresh in Sanlitun for its kid-friendly American breakfast and coloring sheet. We go every weekend.
Favorite Date Spot
For date night, we go to a restaurant. We like Chef Too and Muse. Eric likes Tairyo Teppanyaki.
Favorite Playground
Our favorite one is in our complex. There are five different playgrounds, an indoor pool and indoor ball castle.
Rainy Day
We stay in and watch DVDs; we don’t like going to the mall.
