The annual Great Wall Forest Festival is landing in Beijing next weekend, from May 26-27. It will take place at the new Great Wall Valley near Shuiguan Great Wall, in Yanqing County, where a unique natural environment surrounded by mountains makes for a truly magical setting for family-filled fun.
The festival will combine camping, food, art workshops, themed forums, and adventure activities, along with a special children’s performance, tents party, dancing, folk-themed activities, and much more!
There will be more than 200 artists performing a whole host of interactive musical activities, art installations, theatrical performances, and animated film screenings over the two-day festival, which will entertain kids and even adults who are actually just big kids at heart.
Here are just a few of the highlights you can expect throughout the weekend:
Der Elefantenpups, the original symphony concert, adapted from the world-famous German picture book. It is a story of music, friendship, and environmental protection. The show integrates Chinese and foreign musical instruments, allowing children to experience music from across the globe.
The Tianjin Acrobatic Troupe, whose actors incorporate wonderful costumes, music, dance, and magic into this brilliant family-friendly show.
Absolute Child, an adaptation of the famous children’s story The Ugly Duckling. Starring six quirky children, this play is for kids and adults alike.
Snow Children, a magical show that makes use of a huge range of music, singing, and movement and will whisk the whole family away into another world!
