There have been all kinds of ‘sip’ and do something artistic and trendy offerings throughout 2018. From crafting to painting, there was something for everyone to pair with a glass of Shiraz or Chardonnay, however one cannot compete with the classic partnership of a good book and good wine.
Book club, Reading Between the Wines clearly have their priorities on point for 2019 and are starting as they mean to go on with their first meet of the new year taking place at the very fitting, Alan’s Wine & Restaurant in Sanlitun SOHO. If you’ve been enjoying the TV series, Orange is The New Black, inspired by the book of the same name then this first club meet of the year is for you.
Author Piper Kerman brought us colorful, flawed and inspired characters that have been brought to life for the small screen on Netflix. The book that inspired the networks take on her modern prison narrative is the subject of Reading Between the Wines’ first 2019 event. Reading the entire novel is not a requirement for your attendance and you will enjoy a host of other awesome treats on the night, including book and series-based trivia, Jeopardy and other fun games along with interesting book discussion. While you’re at it have fun making friends with fellow bookworms of the Jing and have a go at swapping some of your favorite reads for new ones.
