This Saturday (August 31), Western Academy of Beijing (WAB) will be celebrating their 25th anniversary and the start of the 2019-2020 school year with a more extensive range of happenings catered for every member of the WAB community to enjoy at their annual Community Picnic. On top of all of the action-packed games and activities being organized on Tiger Field for the young ones, they’ll also be hosting numerous special events for older students at the HUB & Peace Park.
Make sure to tune into a marathon of films from all three years of the WAB Identity Film Festival, which is an annual screening event that showcases original student films.
If you prefer to break a sweat and display your athletic dominance, we urge you to hit the pitch and bend it like Beckham in a small soccer tournament.
Throughout the day, the school will also be hosting tours of all of WAB’s brand new learning spaces. This is an excellent opportunity for new and returning parents to experience how the school is continually upgrading to serve the student body with state-of-the-art facilities.
Finally, there will be plenty of food and fun for the whole family. Parents are suggested to dress young children in swim clothes and make sure they have sunscreen, hats, and water-friendly shoes to stay cool and safe during a full day in the sun.
Also at the event, make sure to say hi to the beijingkids team and get your copy of the latest August 2019 Teen Takeover issue, which features student writers from WAB and many other Beijing international schools showcasing their storytelling talent in print!
