A few international schools in the area are on an early spring break this week; others follow in the next few weeks of April. Here are some things going on in the neighborhood:
*Dulwich hosts morning camps for kids ages 4 and up from April 4-April 8. Jia You Football Camp and Tennis Camp are both held at the Legend Garden campus; Multisports Camp is held at the Riviera Main Campus. Visit their website at www.dulwich-beijing.cn or call 6454 9127 for more information.
*In addition to the spring break camps at Dulwich above, the school has just announced open registration for their Summer Term (which is actually April through June). Classes for all kinds of sports (badminton, tennis, swimming, etc.), languages, drama, music and more are available for students and some for adults as well. All three campuses host classes; registration is at the Legend Garden Campus now, or at the Riviera Campus on March 23 and the River Garden Campus on March 24. E-mail dcp@dulwich-beijing.cn to receive a PDF copy of the full Summer Term brochure.
*Spring registration for Music Together classes has begun at Claire’s Music Studio in Euro Plaza. The new session begins on April 10, and these 45 minutes classes are held on Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays (morning or afternoon) for 10 weeks. Classes vary from babies to mixed ages to bigger kids – a great way to enjoy music and movement together. Contact the studio at 8046 1368.
*John, the former Pinnacle Plaza tailor, has been found! There is a new shopping area being built right next to Beijing Riviera, and he will have his new place there under the name Beijing Fabric & Tailor Shop (137 1807 4866). Does anyone know what else will be going in that shopping center, or when it will be open?
*Come to a charity book sale at the Beijing Riviera Clubhouse on Saturday, March 26 from 11am-1pm. Helping underprivileged children at NewLifeCentre, gently used books for sale include children’s story books, dictionaries, encyclopedias and thesauruses. There will also be organic soaps and jewelry for sale. A volunteer for the event would be welcome; contact Ginny at 139 1177 9630.
*There was a going to be a trial Hip Hop class for adults at the Black Tiger Club (next to Human in Motion Studio at the Riviera Plaza, above Jenny Lou’s) this Wednesday afternoon. If you hadn’t heard about it but it sounds interesting to you, call 139 1071 2576 to see if there will be another opportunity to give the class a try.
