Beijing UFO Glass Platform – All Day Family Trip
With the kids back in school for a couple of weeks now, and the summer heat finally abating and leaving us with lush fall weather, it’s the perfect time to get out of the city for a fun family day trip. This all-inclusive excursion takes you out to Stone Forest Gorge, which is located in Pinggu District. Soak in the spectacular natural scenery with a hike, and enjoy a thrilling walk on the “UFO” cantilever glass platform that spans out from the highest point on the mountain. This day trip includes lunch and a fun fruit-picking activity.

“Little Chef” Mooncake cooking class at EAST Beijing
Every Saturday, EAST Hotel Beijing hosts a fun children’s cooking class, and this month it’s all about mooncakes! Love them or hate them (let’s be real, there are some weird flavors out there), there is no escaping these dense, calorific treats and learning how to make them is a great way to engage more deeply with the traditions and fun of the season. Pro-tip, because they keep for ages, they make great on-the-go snacks for long family outings.

Young Coders Camp
Every man and their dog seems to be learning how to code these days, and this weekend your kids can join them at this two-day Coding Camp. Designed to get kids engaged in the world of coding, it is focused on computational and problem-solving skills, starting at the basics and working through to more advanced coding languages. The morning sessions are aimed at 6-11-year-olds, with the afternoon aimed at 12-17-year-olds.

Salvador Dali – Memories of Surrealism
Renowned for his mind-bending, eye-popping artworks (melting clocks, anyone?) Spanish artist Salvador Dali’s surrealist, multi-media works included painting, self-portrait photography, collage, sculpture and more, and continue to delight and inspire audiences everywhere. This large retrospective collection, which will be in Beijing until the end of October, explores works spanning the artist’s entire career. Kids of all ages can enjoy Dali’s works, with plenty of visually rich and thought-provoking images to feast upon, and parents will enjoy revisiting one of the 20th Century’s most iconic artists.
