If you or your kids are learning Chinese, one great way to practice is to engage with texts that you are already familiar with: in this case, the beloved children’s classic tale of “Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland”. Adapted for the stage, it will be performed at Red Theatre in Chongwen district this Saturday by a Chinese-speaking cast.

Shunyi Sip & Paint with Nadia

Sip’n’paint (in which you practice your art skills and sip on the drink of your choice) isn’t just for adults! This Saturday, Nadia is bringing her ever-popular classes to Shunyi for this adults and teens (12-13 years and older) session. Learn how to paint big bright happy cows with acrylic on canvas and get to know other Shunyi parents and teens. The ticket price includes all materials and 2 glasses of wine or soft drink per person. Kids Club Hike to The Silver Pagodas

Loyal readers will know that we pretty regularly feature Beijing Hikers events, because they’re just so darn fun, however most of the hikes aren’t suitable for young children. That’s with the notable exception of their Kids Club series which is specifically designed for little ones. Now that the weather is warming up, they’re on again and we couldn’t be happier. This Sunday, the Kids Club are tackling The Silver Pagodas in Beijing’s north. It consists of about 4-6km walking in short sections, done over 2-3 hours, and includes a fun picnic near these 600-year old monuments. A fun Pagodas worksheet will also be supplied to keep everyone entertained.
