As part of the inaugural American Literature Festival, there will be two special Children’s Reading Corner events, right here in Beijing. The first takes place this Saturday, and the focus is on Braille: a 12-year-old international Braille reading champion will read two beloved American children’s books, Stellaluna by Janell Cannon and The Story of Ferdinand by Munro Leaf. Following the reading, young children, their parents, and educators can enjoy an introduction to both traditional and electronic Braille technology. Spaces are limited, and preregistration is required.
