So, here’s the deal: Getting rid of all the extra stuff isn’t just about making your home neater; it’s also meant to bring in good luck for the coming year. Think of it as a total reset button for your space and your vibes. By tossing out the old, you’re making way for all the new cool stuff the coming year has in store. What do you do with all the stuff you’ve decided to get rid of? You can join one of the many buy-sell WeChat groups or you can give your things a second chance with a new family by donating them to Roundabout.
Roundabout is essentially Beijing’s very own Salvation Army. This volunteer-run organization takes pre-owned things and sells them out of their giant warehouse store in Shunyi and through their mini-program on WeChat. And the best part of all is the proceeds they make go right back into the community, helping those less fortunate. It’s a win-win-win for everyone!

Leading up to Chinese New Year, Roundabout will be closed Feb 7-21, and they won’t be able to do pickup during that time. But their big blue donation baskets will still be in front of the store, and you’re welcome to drop off your donations there anytime.
What CAN You Donate to Roundabout?
- Daily necessities: working electronic products, washed clothes, kitchen supplies, bags, shoes, hats, all sorts of furniture, storage supplies, bedding, electric heating lamps, etc.
- Children’s equipment: child car seats and strollers, puzzles, toys, and games.
- Outdoor sports equipment: bicycles, helmets, swimming equipment, ski equipment, etc.
- Jewelry: jewelry, crafts, interior decorations, ornaments, works of art.
- Others: fitness equipment, animal products (non-perishable), gardening equipment, outdoor furniture, etc.
Things Roundabout Won’t Accept:
- Broken daily necessities. Please make sure all electronic donations are in working condition. Damaged furniture or furniture with missing parts, old phones, tablets, and other such items aren’t accepted.
- Clothing: underwear, socks, pajamas, and other personalized items that are not brand new.
- Stationary: back issues of magazines, exercise books, school textbooks, advertising albums, non-book accessories, damaged or stained toys.
- Children’s equipment: dirty or old child seats, puzzles, and games that are missing parts.
- Outdoor sports equipment: anything that cannot be properly used or is incomplete.
- Jewelry: incomplete jewelry.
- Others: things that aren’t meant to be reused or are damaged.
