For the past 13 years, Our Learning House (OLH) for Children with Special Needs has been dedicated to providing a safe and loving learning environment for handicapped orphans and children with special needs. Since 2011, OLH has served over 1,000 graduates and expanded its services to remote areas in Gansu, Henan, and Inner Mongolia.
The steadfast commitment of Our Learning House to professional charitable services is made possible with the support of the community. Created in kindness with full investment and free provision of the premises by founder Karyn Robarts, the daily operational costs, teachers’ salaries, children’s meals, and the care for orphans at OLH are entirely funded by donations from caring enterprises and individuals. Over the past decade, these accumulated donations have supported the consistent efforts of Our Learning House.
To thank the many generous companies and individuals who have helped the children at Our Learning House, we hope to bring everyone together to express our gratitude.
A few years ago, several foreign teachers from the sister kindergarten “Jia Yu Yuan” were touched with the genuine smiles of joy on the faces of children and parents from experiencing outdoor activities. This led to the creation of the 2018 Fun Run Carnival which served as a heartfelt “thank you” to the caring companies and individuals supporting OLH.
This year, BIBA generously provided the event venue and, as a co-organizer, is offering its full support for this grand community charity event. Long-term donors such as The Beijing Hong Kong Jockey Club Clubhouse, Morgan Stanley, Tianjin HaWo Technology, Renqiao Asset Management, Jia Yu Yuan Education Group, Amazon Web Services, Mercedes-Benz Financial Services, New Zealand Foundation, and Ji Ai Team will organize employee families to participate in this parent-child fun run. Children’s Bazaar will also be there with stalls filled with fantastic second-hand goods for trading.
Earlier in May of this year, ” Beijing International High School Battle of the Bands” raised over RMB 33,000 for “Our Learning House Home of Love” through live performances by students from Beijing’s international schools. The event was organized by Western Academy of Beijing (WAB) high school student Eloise Wester. This Saturday, the high school participants of the Battle of the Bands will also be present to provide event goers with live music, interacting with the children of Our Learning House, and encouraging more international school students and music lovers to join the next charity fundraising Battle of the Bands.
