Goodbye, July, and hello, August! We hope that the holiday has been treating you well so far and that you’ve been enjoying your time with the kids by your side, 24/7… But if not, here are a couple of artistic summer camp options to add to this BIG LIST, that are still going strong in August!
California Theater Workshop
Featuring actors originally from Los Angeles and New York who want to pass their theater experience to our children, the California Theater Workshop will train children to act on stage, whether they speak English, Chinese, or any language. Their approach is to build confidence, and interact with other people while having fun!
Instructor Peter is a Broadway actor from New York and Los Angeles who has been an acting instructor for young learners since 2007, while instructor Terry is an acting instructor specializing in working with children who want to develop their public speaking skills. He has been a dedicated teacher to children between the ages of 5 to 15 since 2015 and has also directed many shows including “Alice in Wonderland,” the musical “Annie,” and “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.” Together, Terry and Peter strive to create a safe and inclusive environment where students feel empowered to explore their emotions, voices, and bodies to become well-rounded performers.
This workshop is for students ages 5 to 14+ who wish to gain the skills to be more expressive, confident in engaging with others, and to learn how to maintain focus on achieving a task. It is also a way to have fun while meeting new friends from different backgrounds and nationalities. The students can be locals and expats who want to learn this California style of acting.
The dates for this camp have been extended into August, so scan the QR code in the poster below for more details!
Design Camp
Experience the world of design, make fashion you can wear, build mini architectural models, and learn about interior design, brand campaigns, and more with award-winning designer, teacher, curriculum director and Rhode Island School of Design (number one ranked design school) graduate Ms. Jennifer, who has over 17 years experience in the industry. Choose from different themed design camps – Harry Potter, Secret Life of Pets, Ice Cream Fantasy, or Around the World in 80 Days.
English Drama Camp
At Red Panda Dreams summer camp, children and teenagers enjoy learning the basic fundamentals of drama. They explore themselves through different characters and learn to express their emotions. With an original and fun script featuring recognizable characters, this camp provides a dynamic and engaging environment for young actors to thrive.
Already a household name in comedy in Beijing, as well as a professional director and screenwriter in film and theater, Donnie Fan puts on his teacher’s hat to lead this class. He works along with Zoe Liu, who possesses an acting MFA from The New School (NYC) and Washington University (St. Louis), with credits at Williamstown Theatre Festival and the Great Hall at Cooper Union.
