Despite the name, a family-friendly joint
Combine the extensive menu of Let’s Burger with northeastern Beiijing’s widest selection of beer and you’ve got yourself the appropriately-named Burgers & Beer, Beijing’s newest entry in the gastropub circuit.
Don’t let the “beer” moniker scare you away from this burger joint – its much more restaurant than it is rowdy beerhouse, so it’s a great place for families as well.
Located in the Beijing Scitech Premium Outlets (north of WAB and just outside the Maquanying Station on Line 15), this well-designed, two-story hideaway is tastefully decorated in an all-American theme, heavy on the New York City iconography.
The Bohemian combines a beef patty with chicken breast and goat cheese
The menu features no less than 20 different burger combos, from the classic (RMB 49) to such behemoths as The Lumberjack (RMB 95, two patties on 3 slices of rye, with swiss and cheddar cheeses) and The Bohemian (RMB 69), featuring a beef burger sharing space with chicken breast slices, goat cheese, spinach and garlic dressing.
Kids with smaller appetites will likely want to go for the Mini-me (RMB 39), a junior sized portion of the house specialty. There’s also an array of appetizers and sides to choose from, incluing potato skins, cheese sticks, chicken wings, soups and salads.
If you’re not into the red meat (or a vegetarian) there’s chicken burgers, fish burgers and “The Hippie”, an all-veggie selection.
Let’s not forget the beer — and there’s lots of it
For the parents the menu features no less than 50 selections of beer, from the pedestrian (Heineken and Budweiser, both RMB 20) to the exotic (Red Seal American Amber, RMB 45, Duchesse De Bourgogne Ale, RMB 60). Guinness, Hoegaarden Wheat and Pedigree British Ale are offered on tap.
Service at lunch was snappy though points off for the fact that fries need to be ordered separately and the burgers came with mayonnaise (despite the fact that 文were assured they were not served that way).
Exposed beams, roomy booth seating and a clean, tiled floor contribute to the comfortable atmosphere of Burgers & Beer
