*It’s Movember again at ISB, a month-long campaign highlighting men’s health awareness. Everyone is encouraged to help this cause by donating to http://au.movember.com/donate/. Teachers, staff, parents and friends of ISB are shaving off their moustaches and seeing what facial hair they grow during the month. Fun activities ensue, including special speakers, a chili cook-off, and a silent auction. It’s a month-long event designed draw attention to a needed health issue, but to have fun at the same time.
*The House of Knowledge will celebrate their 5th annual St. Martin’s Day Lantern Walk on Friday, November 11 from 5-7pm. This free family event for all ages celebrates the German tradition with a candlelit lantern parade around Beijing Riviera compound (about 30 minutes). Meet at the Beijing Riviera clubhouse and dress warmly for the parade. Food and drinks, including sausages, snacks and German mulled wine, are available for purchase. *Two special events at Joanna’s Run-Ai Jewelry Store: On November 11 and 12 she will host an open house to showcase brand new jewelry collections. Finished silver pieces and gemstones will be 20% off and gold pieces will be 5% off. Come and shop early for the holidays! Additionally, Joanna has created a loyalty program this season for those who want to buy in larger quantities. *Bethel Charity, serving the needs of blind orphans, will open a new charity store in Shunyi. A soft opening is planned for Saturday, December 3. Refer to this post for more detailed information.
*The Learning Center (TLC) will offer two sessions of winter camps for students in grades 1-8. Kids can explore a range of winter-themed topics during Session 1 (Dec. 19-23) or Session 2 (Jan. 2-6).
