Do you lament the lack of responsible, high-quality baby and kids’ clothing in Beijing? Maybe Tang’Roulou can help. Starting from today, the brand will offer 30 to 50 percent off at its Sanlitun store on selected children’s clothing, bedding, and accessories until February 26. To check out their wares, visit Tang’Roulou’s Taobao store.
Taking its name from the city’s iconic caramelized fruit skewers (tang hulu), Founded in 2007, Tang’Roulou is helmed by French-born Amélie Peraud and Pierre-Yves Babin. They inspired themselves from the city’s hutongs and their travels through China to construct a playful, pastoral, and colorful aesthetic.
Most of Tang’Roulou’s products are made from cotton and feature over 200 types of printed fabrics. Their textiles are sourced from Beijing and local markets around China. Everything is assembled by hand in two workshops in Beijing. Because everything is handmade, there are usually no more than 50 items produced for articles of clothing. Tang’Roulou has worked with Baihua, a women’s co-op from northwestern China.
Besides the flagship store in Sanlitun, Tang’Roulou products are also sold at Brand New China and The Orchard.
While you’re in the area, why not go skating at Sanlitun SOHO’s ice rink (admission is half price with a beijingkids Club card) or pick up a cupcake at Colibri Cafe?
