Quick, where can you go for safe, quality products ranging from toys, clothes, and eating utensils for your most precious little ones? With so many horror stories about the safety of food products and children’s toys, it is a relief for parents to know they can shop at Babygro without a Geiger counter. I admit that it took me years to finally make my way to their location at Central Park, but when I needed some good headbands for my daughter, I finally decided to check it out.
Why did I wait so long? Little did I know, a trip to Babygro would uncover numerous other gems that we needed: clothes, Fizzy Tub Colors, and modeling clay. Besides clothes for little ones, Babygro also stocks contemporary maternity wear for moms, so women in Beijing need not settle for looking dowdy when out on the town, working at the office, or simply relaxing at home.
I was fortunate enough to be in the boutique store when the founder, Johanna Selth, happened to be there. A mom herself, Johanna has worked hard to stock her shelves with great products and does what she can to keep the prices reasonable – a challenge with import taxes and the rising cost of retail space.
If getting to the shop is too much trouble for shoppers, Johanna recommends that customers check out her website, where they can place orders and get the products delivered to their door in a matter of days (via www.babygro.com.cn or babygrohuibao.taobao.com). It took me a while to finally get there, but I plan on going back more often now that I know where Babygro is.
