Harrow International School of Beijing student David Zhang recently earned the top score in China on the University of Cambridge Thinking Skills AS-Level Examination. The Thinking Skills AS-level, as Head of Harrow Upper School Dr. John Moore explains, “requires high-level logical-mathematical thinking and an ability to analyze and critique written arguments.” Zhang’s score, the highest in China, is remarkable, and Dr. Moore emphasizes David “should be very proud of this achievement.”
Zhang, who is Chinese and in year 13, participates in mathematics master classes, which is for top math students in Beijing international schools. He also runs the Intermediate Maths Challenge club for Harrow’s younger students. Zhang was also an elected House Captain and organized a table top charity sale for locals in the Anzhenxili area, where Harrow’s campus is located.
