The Russian Children’s Education Center (RCEC), which includes Smeshariki Beijing Kindergarten, established its first grade class this fall. This expansion beyond kindergarten is planned to be the first step in establishing a Russian international school. The RCEC provides a curriculum that instills its students with Russian culture and values through Russian language immersion, but the curriculum incorporates English and some Chinese.
RCEC prepares children for school and focuses on childhood development and early education. Their growing facilities include an art room, music room, music studio, speech therapy, dancing, and more. The curriculum is in accordance with the Russian Federal State Education Standard for primary school, and all teachers are experienced and certified. In addition to the school, RCEC also acts as a cultural center and offers plenty of after-school workshops and activities open to children from all schools.
