When Sharon Wong became a mother, she thought there had to be an easier way to shop for her childcare needs, and was thus inspired to establish Motherswork. Though Motherswork has been operating in Singapore since 1998, it opened its largest store in Beijing only on September 16.
This well-stocked shop has products ranging from bathtime (flexible foldable tub at RMB 407) and bedtime supplies to baby clothes (RMB 269-429), maternity clothes, books, learning toys, and strollers. Motherswork follows a strict set of values and guidelines that define the quality of items for sale, and only sells products that pass international safety standards.
Wong explains: “We do a little bit of the research for you. Our values are really important here; we absolutely do not compromise.” As for the maternity clothes, they can stretch to fit comfortably during pregnancy, and then shrink back to regular sizes. “Your baby should be an extension of your lifestyle, and your fashion sense shouldn’t have to change,” says Wong.
