This weekend is Roundabout Charity Store’s biggest charity book fair. It will be held on Saturday, March 16 at Beijing City International School (BCIS), from 10am to 3pm. For those that miss the event, the fair will continue from Monday to Friday (9.30am-3.30pm) until March 27.
Roundabout’s book fair is a great opportunity to pick up some good quality books, and at the same time, help the community. This event will assist Wang Xiao Yan, a 16-year-old girl diagnosed with osteaosarcoma (one of the most malignant bone tumor) in her leg. She has undergone surgery, but still needs treatments to prevent the tumor from spreading. She is from a poor village in Shanxi and cannot afford the costs of the medical treatments, so funds raised at the fair will help cover the RMB 80,000 necessary for chemotheraphy and other additional treatments.
At the fair there are books in many languages and genres. There will be children’s book from RMB 1, paperbacks from RMB 10 and hardbacks from RMB 20. Roundabout also collects books that anyone may want to donate; at the moment, they are looking for more children’s books.
Come to the fair, buy some books and support Roundabout’s cause to help Wang Xiao Yan and other children in need.
