Not only did The British School of Beijing (BSB) host this year’s ACAMIS Gold Division Soccer Tournament, but they also won the title of ACAMIS Soccer Champions for both the boys and girls teams. The tournament was held at the school’s Shunyi campus from Thursday, April 18 to Saturday, April 20.
The three-day tournament started with round-robin games, and from there the teams went to play-offs. Competition became fierce as teams entered the semi-finals, as teams had scoped out their competition during round-robins, but both BSB teams prevailed and advanced to the finals, with the girls taking the game with 2-0 and the boys dominating with 7-0.
The finals were closer nail-biters. The BSB girls team faced off against the International School Macao, scratching out a goal at the end of the second overtime for a 1-0 win. The boys competed against Harrow International School Beijing, and emerged victorious with a 1-0 win.
