Technode has a post about Zhaozhao, a new “people tracker” device that’s currently being designed by Polegame Studio (check out their weibo feed here), which was one of the three winners of the 2013 ChinaQPrize, “organized by Qualcomm ventures”:
The accompanying iOS/Android app can track down whoever carrying the smaller-than-palm gadget, kids, seniors or pets, locating where they are and saving all the data onto the cloud platform which is powered by Baidu Cloud. You can see the surroundings of it at any given time, which is powered by Soso Streeview.
As the article points out, there are already a number of smartphone apps, ranging from the “Find my iPhone” app for iTunes and GPS Trackin Pro for Android, on the market that can help users keep tabs on their kids and stalk track their partners.
