There are hundreds of animals hoping to find loving homes in Beijing. If you are considering adopting a pet, Doggy/Moggy of the Week will feature animals from volunteer shelters, animal rescue groups, foster care providers, and pet owners needing to rehome animals. This week’s wabbit, Elvis, is from ICVS’ Adoptable Pets.
Name: Hi, my name is Elvis!
Background: When I was a baby I was bought from a street seller, in a cage that was barely bigger than my own body. Unfortunately my first owner was unable to take care of me, so I was given to my current owner, who has taken care of me since I was 2 months old. Now my owners are moving to the UK, and while they’re very sad that they can’t afford to take me with them, they know that I can make a new family very happy.
Personality: I am a funny bunny with a strong personality. I’m always making my owners laugh with my joyful jumps and my curious and playful nature. I’m affectionate and love my ears and nose being rubbed – I’ll even return the favor with kisses! I get very excited when it’s breakfast and dinnertime, and I love playing with my food. Most of the day I like relaxing in the peace and quiet, so if you have to go to work, I’ll be fine on my own. I’m not much of an attention seeker, and I don’t really like hugs, but when I’m in the mood for a head scratch and a snuggle, I’ll come find you!
Ideal home: I’ve lived with a noisy dog for most of my life, so will be happy to join any loving family with animal friends, as long as I can play out of my cage in safety. I love children too, as long as they’re old enough to know what I like.
Sex & Age: Neutered male, 4 years old
Medical notes: Elvis is registered at ICVS and is a healthy and happy rabbit. ICVS are generously offering a 50% discount on his examinations during his first year with a new family. Extras: Elvis has a large cage with a corner toilet and pull out under-tray, which is very easy to clean. His new family will be provided with all attachments of his cage, including his water bottle, food bowl, and a second ‘storey’ that he loves to sleep on. They’ll also be provided with a bag of rabbit pellets and a few bags of timothy hay, for his first few weeks in his new home.
