There are hundreds of animals hoping to find loving homes in Beijing. If you are considering adopting a pet, Doggy/Moggy of the Week will feature animals from volunteer shelters, animal rescue groups, foster care providers, and pet owners needing to rehome animals. This week’s doggy, Dou Dou, is from ICVS’ Adoptable Pets.
Name: Hi everyone, my name is Dou Dou.
Background: I belonged to a handicapped man living in the Nanlouguxiang area, but because I am a large breed dog, I need to find a new home outside of the 4th Ring Road where I can be legally registered and safe.
Personality: I am a super sweet, extremely energetic husky and eager to find a loving family.
Ideal home: I am fine with an individual owner or with a couple. If you have children, they should be older teenagers (e.g., 15-years and older). I am a young dog and full of energy so please take me for multiple walks (at least 3-4 daily of 30-minutes each time) so I can expend my energy.
Breed: I am a medium sized husky dog.
Sex & Age: I am a little over one year old and am a neutered male.
Medical notes: I have been cared for by my vets at ICVS and am already fully vaccinated, neutered and in good health.
Post-adoption care: The International Center for Veterinary Services (ICVS) has enrolled me into their Rescued/Stray/Rehomed Pet Adoption Benefits Program. ICVS will provide my new family with significant discounts (up to 50%) on my health examinations and vaccinations during my first year with my new family.
Official Vaccination Certificate: I have been rabies vaccinated at ICVS so the hospital will issue my new family an official Beijing Animal Health and Immunity Certificate (e.g., vaccination red book) at no charge. I need this official vaccination red book to prove I have been legally and properly rabies vaccinated. I must have this official vaccination red book in order to renew my annual dog license registration, to move to another city or to leave China with my family.
Official Spay/Neuter Certificate for Dogs: My new family will also receive an official Spay/Neuter Certificate from ICVS. The official Spay/Neuter Certificate will provide my owners with a 50% discount (e.g., up to RMB 500.00 savings) on my dog license registration fee at the Public Security Bureau.
Puppy Obedience Training Programs at ICVS: ICVS has introduced new puppy, juvenile and adult dog obedience training programs. The training classes will help me and my family live a more harmonious life together! All profits from the puppy and adult dog training programs will be donated to the ICVS Non-Profit Humane Animal Welfare Programs. Please contact ICVS for more information about canine obedience training.
ICVS Non-Profit Humane Animal Welfare Programs: Please support and donate to the ICVS Non-Profit Humane Animal Welfare Programs: http://www.icvsasia.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=category&layout=blog&id=62&Itemid=91&lang=en
Your donations support ICVS in helping the many pets like Dou Dou and the many stray/rescued/abandoned and shelter animals in our community. The pets receive medical care, treatments, good nutrition and socialization with love and compassion that allows them to become healthy adoptable pets.
