Last Friday, we attended the grand opening of Hope International School (HIS) at their new Crab Island location. The first floor of the new campus has been completely renovated and includes a full reconstruction of a small courtyard. Hope also created a playground for the main entrance to the school. In addition, the new campus is able utilize an Olympic size swimming pool, a full size soccer pitch, a bowling alley, badminton courts, and a gymnasium.
Families are welcome to check out the new location when HIS hosts its Fall Fair on Saturday, October 11. Open to the whole Beijing community, the Fall Fair will have carnival games, face painting, and gifts and goods to purchase or donate. Families can also explore the surrounding park rides at Crab Island. With a five-year lease, HIS intends to take advantage of its location with filed trips and other learning experiences easily accessible on site such as the equestrian facility or the go-kart track.
HIS is a faith based international school for kids from preschool to Grade 12. First opened in August of 2012, the school has grown in enrollment to over 235 students for the new academic year. HIS operates on an American curriculum and offers Advanced Placement (AP) level courses. Currently, the school is awaiting approval for accreditation with WASC. Students and parents must hold foreign passports to apply to HIS.
