If you go down to the woods on the weekend of May 30 and 31, you’re sure of a big surprise. Founded in 2010, the Great Wall Forest Festival is a relaxing, family-friendly music festival set in the scenic wooded hills of Yanqing County. This year’s theme is Forest Fairy Tales with more than 40 performances, eight play zones, and over 20 family-friendly activities taking place in a lush, green valley with views of the Great Wall. Open each day from 1pm-8pm, the festival is suitable for families with kids aged 2-14.

Also featured is the “Paradise of Fairy Tales” family carnival offering a grand jigsaw puzzle, pony rides, face painting, clowns and magicians, balloon sculpture, bubble show, arts and crafts, a variety of food vendors, and many free gifts.
The overnight camping zone provides clean, safe facilities for those with their own camping equipment and a passion for the outdoors. Families who don’t fancy camping can take special daily-return buses to and from the venue. Details will be announced closer to the festival.
