There are hundreds of animals hoping to find loving homes in Beijing. If you are considering adopting a pet, Doggy/Moggy of the Week will feature animals from volunteer shelters, animal rescue groups, foster care providers, and pet owners needing to rehome animals. This week’s moggy, Zhen, is from ICVS’ Adoptable Pets.
Introduction: Hi all! My name is Zhen (珍) because my foster mum knows that I am a real treasure.
Background: I was rescued from an air duct, where I was hiding. This experience left me frightened and not able to trust anyone. My foster mum has spent time nurturing me in a safe, peaceful environment where I have been able to develop into a socially confident, happy kitten. I’m now ready to meet my permanent, adoptive family.
Personality: I am a very intelligent, inquisitive kitten, exploring everywhere, constantly looking for new adventures. I love being cuddled and purr loudly in appreciation. I occupy myself for hours in my apartment. Everything is exciting and new. I also have a scratch pad which I love so I don’t scratch the furniture, when I occasionally forget I quickly respond when I hear "Zhen no!" I love everything I’m offered to eat and I know exactly what to do with my litter box. I’m also quite happy to be brushed.
Ideal home: I am very well adapted and would like to find a loving, caring family where I can feel safe and treasured. I would be okay around older children (e.g., 8-years and older).
Breed: I’m told I’m a Turkish Van. I am a very beautiful ball of ginger and white fluff, with little white tips on my ears and a ginger striped tail.
Sex and age: I am an 8 – 9 week old female kitten.
Medical notes: I am very healthy and have just had my second set of vaccinations at ICVS.
Post-adoption care: I’m fortunate because The International Center for Veterinary Services (ICVS) has enrolled me in their Rescued/Stray/Rehomed Pet Adoption Benefits Program. ICVS will provide my new family with significant discounts (up to 50%) on my health examinations, vaccinations and spay/neuter surgeries during my first year of life with my new family.
Official Vaccination Certificate: With my rabies vaccination, ICVS will issue my new family with an official Beijing Animal Health and Immunity Certificate (e.g. Vaccination red book) at no charge! I need this official vaccination red book to prove I have been legally and properly rabies vaccinated. I must have his official vaccination red book in order to move to another city or to leave China with my new family.
Pet Import/Export Counseling: ICVS will provide my family with unlimited relocation counseling and accurate information so I can go with them when it is time to move to another city or to relocate to another country.
