Snow has started in earnest and most of the roads and pavements were really slippery. Avoid getting injured and get shoes that have good soles with grip to help keep you balanced and upright. Here are a few suggestions on where to get durable snow boots.
Decathlon
They four branches scattered around town make it easier to find the right sized shoes for skiing and snowing weather. There have a variety of snow weather apparels and even hiking shoes designed for mountaineers. So your feet are in good hands at this store. If you have a TMall account then you can order online via the decathlon TMall store or sign up for online shopping on their website that’s in English and Chinese.
Columbia
You will see ads around for this American sportswear company around town especially just before winter fully sets in. They have very specialized gear and large enough sizes (well they had my size but not size 41 and above for women) and kids. You can visit the store but expect to pay not less than RMB 500 for a pair of the snow boots. You can buy online through JD.com, TMall, and their own website.
The North Face
This is another American company that specializes in cold weather outwear that’s well known and will have a stock of big sized shoes that can but this is still pricey as shoes will start at RMB 600 and above depending on the model. Their TMall store does have a notable selection as well as JD.com (Chinese interface only), and physical stores around town.
Camel
This Chinese company has a range of affordable outdoor shoes and gear that’s more for the hiking community. This isn’t to be confused with Camel Active that’s a German company. They have stores around town where you can actually get to access the quality of the products if buying online isn’t an option. Shoes and other apparels can be bought on JD.com, TMall, and their own website. (Chinese interface only)
