Stylish taxis
Chinese taxis may soon be replaced with the classic London black taxi. In an effort to boost production, the taxi manufacturer Manganese Bronze has teamed up with Shanghai car producer Greely to begin producing the cabs in China. Looks like Beijing cabs might get a little classier. JP
A Breath of Fresh Air
According to Reuters, Beijing is enjoying its cleanest air in over a decade. The deputy
director of the Beijing Environment Protection Bureau, Du Shaozhong, said in August 2008, “Measures ensure air quality will reach a new level after the Olympic games,” and it seems he’s right. However, because China’s gauge for measuring pollution is not as strict as many other countries, doctors recommend living
“an optimum anti-inflammatory lifestyle and diet.” In real terms this means eating more fruit and vegetables and adding vitamin supplements where needed. Ellis Pugh
