Since I registered on facebook a few months ago, I’ve frantically uploaded a myriad of photos of my cat, expecting my friends to leave loving comments on them every day, confirming to me that my cat is the most beautiful kitty in the whole world. This little hope of mine was thoroughly destroyed when, after all this time, only one person wrote a dishearteningly small line on one of the 200 plus pictures.
My ego was hurt. Granted, pets are not like human babies, but in my opinion, my cat deserves attention from my friends because she’s part of my family. For a cat lover like me, I find this community comforting and encouraging.
Now whenever my pregnant best friend jabbers away about her online new-mom friends, I get to say: “I know what you mean, I have this online cat-lover friend who …" It’s just smashing.
