Does your kid love the limelight? Well this is their chance to shine.
The original 1984 cult movie classic Karate Kid is being remade, starring Jackie Chan and Will Smith’s young son, Jaden Smith. This time around the film is called Kung Fu Kid, moving away from it’s Japanese origins with a decidedly Chinese flavor.
So if you think your little one would love the chance to show off to the camera, head on down to ISB for a casting call:

Here’s what the casting people had to say about the film:
“Kung Fu Kid™ (Karate Kid Remake) is a film about a 11 year old American boy named Dre who moves to Beijing with his mother and makes friends with a Chinese girl named Mei Ying. Dre learns Kung Fu from Mr. Han to protect himself from a school bully and to compete in a Martial Arts tournament. Kung Fu Kid™ will show the beauty of modern Beijing and the friendship and understanding that is possible between eastern and western cultures.”
The casting team are also looking for a young Chinese girl to play alongside Jayden Smith in a lead role, as well as Caucasian and African American boys aged 11-14.
The Chinese girl must be:
– Aged 10-14
– Chinese citizen
– Good English
