After leaving her demanding position as an insurance actuary, Marina Sieh Ho is now a stay-at-home mom. Her two daughters, Sophia (6) and Allegra (3), keep her so busy that she barely has time to dry her hair in the morning, let alone apply any makeup. Brazilian-born Marina, who had never dyed her hair before, was convinced that adding a touch of color was a bad idea – until she met colorist to the stars, Cat from Salon Vajra. After a lengthy consultation she decided to give it a shot with amazing results. To cap off the day, Dragonfly Therapeutic Retreat generously supplied Marina with a 90-minute massage voucher.
Get the Look:
Hong Kong hair stylist Jerry kept Marina’s hair very close to her original style, as she wanted to keep the length. He thickened her bangs and kept the layers to a minimum.
Funky Hong Kong hair colorist Cat, lifted Marina’s natural color by adding a subtle mix of highlights, lowlights and base tones in a range of chocolate hues. Careful attention was paid not to make Marina’s hair look unnaturally streaky. Jerry then gave Marina a blow dry and set everything in place with a ghd straightening iron.
Makeup artist Wang Lei started with a basic moisturizer, followed by a mix of three RMK foundations to get the right skin tone. Chanel powder then set the foundation. Wang created smoky eyes using MAC eye shadow in grey and brown. She added a fresh glimmer by using a touch of silver eyeliner. Fake eyelashes were applied for an extra "wow" factor. MAC Margin Frost powder blush added a rose tint to Marina’s check bones and the look was finished off with Bobbi Brown Pot Rouge in Powder Pink.
