Beijing-born Nancy Ding divides herself between two very important roles: a business manager at Microsoft and a mother to her son Andy (3). A self-professed "workaholic," Nancy admits she finds juggling the two to be rather difficult. "It’s very challenging – I don’t have a work/life balance," she confesses. When Nancy’s not taking 1am conference calls, she’s devoting her time and energy to her son who attends Ivy International Kindergarten. It’s high time this mom took a break from her hectic schedule to relax and unwind. Thankfully, London-trained stylist Tom from The Cut Culture was on-hand to pamper Nancy and force her to put her feet up for a whole afternoon.
Get The Look:
1 Tom opted not to dye Nancy’s hair, keeping her naturally rich black locks. He gave Nancy a "refined bob," with sharp lines designed to frame her face and accent her high cheekbones.
2 Also a makeup artist, Tom decided on a soft, fun look for Nancy. An RMK skin primer in pink was applied to balance Nancy’s skin tone, followed by Chanel concealer. Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk foundation in tones 3 and 6, and a light dusting of powder finished the base. Nars stick cream blush in Orgasm added a natural glow. Dark brown pencil was used to fill in her eyebrows. Following a generous application of mascara, Tom used Makeup Forever eye shadow in pink, white and coffee. Liquid eyeliner helped add definition while fake eyelashes and a hint of glitter on the outer edge of her eyelid gave her a "wow" factor. Nars Chelsea Girls lip laquer and Dior Kiss lip gloss in Lychee Rose gave her the perfect pout.
3 To finish off Nancy’s look, Tom shaped her hair using a blow-drier and a thick round brush. Short bangs were added to soften the style and give her that sought-after pixie cut. Hair mud added texture and body, while a touch of hairspray made sure nothing was out of place.
