People love music. It’s especially heartwarming to hear children sing and perform musical instruments as they learn to perfect their craft. When a compilation of such music goes towards helping others, then the venture is that much sweeter.
A Gift of Love II is a special new CD just released by Claire’s Music Studio in Shunyi. A two-disc collection, this CD has 22 tracks on one disc and 13 tracks on the second. All songs are sung or performed by the music students, some in groups and some as solos. The proceeds of this RMB 88 CD go to Tzu Chi Buddhist Foundation, offering scholarships and student aid to First High School of Laiyuan and Yi Counties of Hebei Province.
Claire Lin, founder of Claire’s Music Studio in Euro Plaza, has many gifts. She loves all music and is an incredibly talented performer. She works magic with her young music students and has an unending desire to give back to the community in a big way. Through many charities, she helps to raise awareness and sponsor students in rural provinces of China so that they can receive an education. Her first recording of A Gift of Love debuted at Christmas time in 2008. Proceeds for that project went towards Zhejiang Xinhua Compassion Education Foundation. A more recent event was a winter charity auction dinner and show at Yosemite benefitting the Tieli village children attending school. Anything to do with educational assistance for those less fortunate and Claire is all there, spreading out the beneficiaries of her fundraisers.
With her new, larger location now located on the 5th floor of Euro Plaza, Claire’s Music Studio accommodates more instructors, students, classes and opportunities since moving there in the summer of 2010. Walk in at any time and there is bustling activity with children as well as adults who take lessons during school hours!
