The Belgian Embassy will be putting on a charity bazaar for Japan this Saturday, March 26th. This is a family event with all proceeds going to the Japanese Red Cross.
There will be dancing, traditional music, origami lessons and Japanese food. Events commence at 10am and finish at 4pm. You can show up whenever you’d like and stay as long as you want, as there will be multiple performances and food will be served throughout.
The event is being put on by the Embassy of Belgium along with the Japanese Committee of Women. The organizers have noted that the current Ambassador of Belgium in China experienced the 1995 Kobe earthquake first-hand and that his mother is Japanese.
The devastating events of March 11th have left many in Japan without a home and many in need of medical treatment, but the country is struggling at less than full capacity. Anything you can do to help will help in a big way.
