My family and I went to Tim’s Texas Bar-B-Q and had a traditional Texas-style meal. Less than half a century ago it would have seem strange to get Texas barbeque in China. Texas is so quintessentially American – the cowboy, Texas beef, big oil, big everything. But that was then, this is now.
We sat at a picnic style table and drank beer with our meal – Chinese beer – but still. We ate barbeque ribs, cold slaw, baked beans and potato salad. My daughter Julia went Tex-Mex and got the enchiladas.
I’ll have to go back because there is something going on every night at Tim’s. There is live music on Wednesday, Friday and Saturdays. Free trivia, Pub quiz night every Tuesday from 8pm. Dart league or tournament every Thursday, and every day it’s happy hour from 4-8.
