A few years ago , I went to see Mamma Mia on stage in New York City and I loved it. When it became a movie I bought it and my daughter Julia (10) and I watched it at least three times. Last Saturday I took Julia to the show in Beijing where we once again saw Mamma Mia – but in Chinese. Besides knowing how to order a few things at a restaurant or knowing how to direct a taxi driver, I don’t speak the language, and neither does Julia. But besides the language barrier, we enjoyed the show and I was highly impressed with the production. The singing and dancing was superb and there was laughter and clapping. Mamma Mia is a show you can enjoy in any language.
