With schools back in session, not only are there many kids’ activities starting up, but there are a LOT of things going on for adults! *Girl Scouts pre-registration for the 2011-2012 school year begins during two mandatory parent meetings – In Shunyi it will be held as ISB on Tuesday, September 6 at 6 p.m.; Downtown it will be held at the Embassy House Library on Wednesday, September 7 at 6 p.m. Girls from kindergarten (age five) through high school may join. *Cub Scouts for younger boys (1st-5th grade or 6-11 years old) held their registration event last weekend; however, I’m told that registration is active continually. Contact Pack Committee Chairman Clark Ledger (clarkledger@hotmail.com) or Cubmaster David Wolf (dwolf@wolfgroupasia.com) for details.
*The annual charity bazaar held at Radiance will be held on Wednesday, September 14 from noon-8pm. Local and expat vendors will fill the rooms during this popular bazaar, with all proceeds from table fees and raffle tickets going directly to charity. Call 8049 6400 for more information.
*A new dance studio begins in River Garden this month. Rising Stars Dance School will offer Creative Ballet and Character Dance classes for young children (ages 4-7) on Mondays from 4:15-5:15pm and older children (ages 7-11) on Thursdays from 4:15-5:15pm. *Enjoy a Charity Art Auction and Exhibition on Sunday, September 4 from 2-6 pm at ARTMIA Gallery (261 Chaochangdi Airport Service Road, Chaoyang District, 8457 4550). Paintings, photos and sculptures donated by professional artists in Beijing will be auctioned, photos from the Love & Hope (Beijing) Center will be exhibited, and music performances by ISB students will be featured as well. All proceeds from the event will go to the Love & Hope (Beijing) Center.

*CLBC Renee Learning Centre held an “open day” last weekend, with teachers providing demo lessons for potential students. Children ages 3-12 interested in learning dance, English or Chinese can contact renee0714@gmail for information on the classes, held in Gahood Villa.
*Do you know where you can dispose of old batteries and empty printer cartridges? I didn’t, but heard that you can recycle them at WAB, next to the PTA store.
*Dulwich Community Programmes registration begins today for the September-December term at the Legend Garden Sports Centre.
