Congratulations to Dulwich College Beijing
Dulwich College Beijing has been named British International School of the Year 2011, which is part of the Independent School Awards. On November 16, the awards ceremony was held on in Birmingham, UK at the National Motorcycle Museum. This award is based on Dulwich fulfilling the criteria of being an inspirational school based outside of the UK that espouses a British education, and has made a strategic or financial achievement of note. For the official submission, Dulwich College Beijing highlighted student efforts that have been made with local migrant schools in Beijing. The school continues to make contributions to the community through student exchanges, field trips, and fundraisers.
ISB’s New and Improved Elementary School
New elementary classrooms and new playground equipment are just some of the ways ISB is supporting kids in learning. Students who need assistance with good posture while writing now have the option to use an inflatable ball as a chair. There are also new safer swings on the playground, as well as rubberized floors.
Daystar Academy Welcomes a New Director
Daystar Academy is pleased to welcome Mr. Ian Bayly as the school’s new director. Ian has spent 27 years in international education as a teacher, IB Diploma coordinator, high school principal, and school head. Most recently, he set up the new International School of Western Australia in Perth. His school leadership skills have taken him to India, Peru, Venezuela, Jordan, and Sri Lanka. Ian brings his passion and commitment to excellence in education to Daystar. He is married with two grown children.
