The BCIS Academic and Merit Scholarship Program Is Now Open
Beijing City International School (BCIS) is now accepting applications for their highly regarded scholarship programs. Scholarships are typically awarded to students in their final three years of school, but exceptional students aged at least 13 years by October 31 of the relevant school year may be considered. There are two kinds of scholarships offered: academic scholarships and merit scholarships. Academic scholarships are awarded on the basis of competitive examinations in English, mathematics and science and an interview. Merit scholarships are awarded on the basis of high achievement and outstanding potential in a specific area of endeavor in any of the following four areas: visual or performing arts, technology, mathematics, and science. Scholarships are open to existing BCIS students, as well as incoming students. Contact 8771 7171 or admissions@bcis.cn to apply; or visit www.bcis.cn.
The New Dulwich Legend Sports Dome
Dulwich College Beijing recently hosted the grand opening of their Dulwich Legend Sports Dome. The pressurized “bubble” dome allows for an extension of the school’s vast sports offerings, with the added benefit of being immune to weather issues (winter cold, summer heat, rain, or less than ideal air quality). Measuring 34 by 48 meters, it’s large enough to accommodate many sports activities at one time and is already being used at the campus. There are also plans to add six new tennis courts and an ice rink, adjacent to the campus dome, by the summer of 2012.
