Where do you donate your gently used clothing, toys and household goods when there is no Roundabout location? Well, Roundabout! Yes, they are still accepting donations even though they temporarily have no place to call “home,” and they are continuing to make plans in 2012 to distribute to charities all around. With colder temperatures and Chinese New Year right around the corner, please don’t forget to clean out your closets, giving your un-needed items to those who can use them.
For the moment, simply call Leslie at 137 1877 7761 and she’ll provide an address for drop-off donations. Additionally, the Beijing Rego British School will accept donations on a temporary basis.
In the meantime, please note two important event announcements:
*The Green Cap Bar & The Filling Station Spooky Costume Party (benefitting Roundabout) scheduled for Friday, January 13 has been postponed. Apologies to all who were planning to attend, but please stay tuned for a rescheduled event soon!
*The ever-popular Book Fairs are back! Stock up on books for the winter months at the Beijing Rego British School Book Fair (next to A-Z Kids in Pinnacle Avenue), this Saturday, January 14 from 10am-3pm. The November Book Fair raised RMB 50,000 to purchase coal for two orphanages – imagine what this first one in 2012 can do!
In addition to books, a selection of toys and games will be available for purchase. It’s also a great time to tour the school with a staff member answering all of your questions.
Book donations are accepted on the day of the book fair as well. Go through your book shelves, and come to the fair to replace what you’ve already read – supporting charities along the way.
