Not sure what to do this weekend? Why not take advantage of the cold weather and head to Nanshan ski resort for the day? This stunning ski resort is only a 1 hour drive outside of Beijing and consists of a snowboarding park named Nanshan Mellow Park including a number of rails and a half pipe for serious snowboarders, and 10 ski slopes of varying difficulty, so skiers of all abilities can have a go! The shuttle bus runs every Saturday and Sunday at 8.30am from Dongzhimen, and a return journey costs RMB 40. Admission to the ski resort itself costs RMB 20 and ski rental is RMB 150 for 2 hours on a weekend (RMB 100 on a weekday), or RMB 240 for a whole day of skiing. Note that you will also need a deposit of RMB 400 for the safe return of the suit and ski equipment.
