Extra, extra! Beijing is set to be the home to a new international university linked to Ireland’s University College Dublin (UCD). Set to admit students as soon as September 2012, university will work in partnership with Beijing University of Technology (BJUT), the highest-ranked Chinese university funded by Beijing’s municipal government.
The first wave of students will number around 350, but the institution hopes to increase this to around 3,000 after four years.
The new school will be the first international university in Beijing and will serve as the study abroad location for UCD students. Eventually, the university also plans to expand into postgraduate courses and executive education.
