*The much anticipated opening for BabyGro is here! Located in Cathay View Garden by Beijing Riviera (2 Xiangjiang Bei Lu, Chaoyang), this new store location will be a hit for all moms from pregnancy through age 5 – cute clothes, equipment and more. Customers will find over 300 mother and baby products from around 50 international brands, with 95% of their items imported. Johanna Selth opened her first BabyGro store in the Central Park area in 2009 after her internet business became so successful. She was prompted to start the business when she had her first baby here in 2006 and simply could not find any products that she would normally buy at home (Australia). While there are more options available in Beijing these days, BabyGro stocks the latest, most innovative items, many of them winners of the Mother & Baby Awards and the German Kind & Jugend Awards, as well as recommendations from moms. BabyGro will be open from Wednesday – Sunday from 10am-5pm for the next couple of months (extended hours beginning this summer).
*Speaking of this same Cathay View Garden mall area, it’s growing! Not only does it now include favorites such as DD’s Market, Johnson’s Computers and Human in Motion, there’s a hint of some popular restaurants to come (Fatburger, anyone?!).
*MAC Time (5th floor Euro Plaza) will host a special Easter Crafts Activity on Sunday, April 8 from 10-11am and 11:20am-12:20pm for children aged 3-10. There will be Easter Bunny and Chick Making as well as Easter Story Telling. Cost is RMB 120 per child; enroll before April 5 by calling 8046 1820 or 138 1033 4208.
*Pinnacle Plaza changes – Naturino shoes is gone, as is the location that was beside it (does anyone remember what that was?). Here’s hoping that whatever replaces it will be something the expats in the area want to see! Also saw a new (to me) food market next to Hair Show in the area. I haven’t gone in yet, but am curious about what they would have that Jenny Wang’s doesn’t just a few doors down. Still, nice to have some options…
