According to the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China, between the years 2005-2009, the number of international students studying at Chinese universities increased by more than 10,000（ including undergraduate, graduate students and training courses for working professionals）and in 2010, the number of international students was over 260,000. It is reported that the greatest number of students come from North America, Europe and Asia. The Chinese government has been helping international students who want to attend Chinese universities by providing them with scholarships, and will continue to do so as the numbers inevitably increase.
