This weekend offers an abundance of fun filled kid-friendly activities from charity events to festivals and fairs that highlight the coming of summer.
Friday, discover the wild wild west by heading down to Mako Theater in Shuangjing to see the Beijing Playhouse Production of Oklahoma, which is finally showing in town.
Saturday, choose from two different festivals, YCIS Global Community Day and Interceltic Fest noz 2012.
YCIS Global Community Day this year will feature African drumming and Bollywood dancers sure to get you moving to the beat. Afterwards enjoy vendors serving everything from mouth-watering samosas to kimchi and everything in between. Goods and YCIS apparel/stationary will be on sale as well.
Interceltic Fest 2012 features a musical group from Bregtagne. Discover their culture and immerse yourself in British and Celtic music and dances with live band music. French food and snacks, plus drinks will be offered. There will also be British games, tug of war, and activities for kids.
If you’re not one for all the festivities and prefer something more formal and dressed up the China Prom Starfish Project Charity Party might be just your thing. Escape back to high school in the crowning of the Prom King & Queen. Enjoy the auction, free snacks, and music.
Sunday, make a splash at the BSB Summer Fayre, with this year’s theme Summer Splash! There will be lots of water to keep everyone cool, and is sure to get everyone in the summer spirit. All money raised will go to BSB school charities.
Closing off the weekend is Pink Day to support breast cancer awareness, which features a fair with food stalls, games, art, clothing, a garage sale, and a lucky draw where you will have the chance to win iphones and hotel stays. Free breast examinations are also offered!
