The Rotary is a worldwide organization of businesses and professional leaders that provides humanitarian service, encourages high ethical standards in all vocations, and helps build goodwill and peace in the world. 1.2 million Rotarians belong to more than 33,000 Rotary clubs in over 200 countries.
The Rotary Club of Beijing’s annual charity ball is coming up soon. This Saturday, June 9th at 6:30pm the Rotary Club will hold hit’s annual charity ball at the Kempinski Hotel. This year’s theme is Celebrating the Colors of the World. Tickets are RMB 1000 which is a donation. Guests are required to dress in black tie or national dress (in your country’s national colors). Cocktails will be followed by a dinner reception with live entertainment, music, a magic show, and pay to play games, all for charity. All the funds raised will be used to fund the charitable projects of the Rotary Club of Beijing.
All the proceeds will go to children’s charities to fund the China Library Project that donates to libraries to underprivileged schools, giving children the opportunity to learn about how libraries work and be able to read more. Thus far 35 libraries have been donated.
The proceeds will also help fund the China Literacy Project that donates money to underprivileged children to pay for their schooling, and necessary products needed for learning. The event also funds Gift of Life, where Rotary screens and supports heart surgeries for underprivileged children, as well as donating a bus to go to rural areas to do more accurate heart checkups for children when needed.
