A male bichon frise survived a fall from the eighteenth floor of a Beijing building after his owner admitted to tossing him out because the dog "annoyed him."
Luckily, the bichon’s fall was broken by a car windshield. After reading about the incident on Weibo, Chinese singer Huang Yong (黄勇) rushed to the scene and brought him to Doctors Beck and Stone for treatment. Police arrested Bichon’s former owner after Huang Yong took the dog to the hospital.
The dog, who’s simply being called "Bichon" for now, arrived at the animal hospital in critical condition. He had a fractured right leg, but veterinarians also suspected "ruptures of the diaphragm, urinary bladder and un-displaced fractures of the bones." Now, Bichon’s vital signs are stable and his appetite is returning. The animal hospital reports that he has gotten many visits from journalists and well wishers.

The London-based Little Black Puppy Charity will be paying for Bichon’s medical treatment. In addition, Huang Yong has donated 100 music CDs to the charity; they’re to be given away to the first 100 people who donate RMB 100 towards Bichon’s treatment. The money can be dropped off at any of Doctors Beck and Stone’s locations. Huang Yong plans to adopt Bichon once the little dog gets better.
