On Saturday, Switch Café in Shunyi held a street party to celebrate the opening of their new location. Attendees were treated with burgers and hot dogs hot off the BBQ, free beverages, and sweet treats like cotton candy and Switch’s own gelato. It was an easy-going event where people from the neighboring area hung out and talked with old friends and made new acquaintances while sampling fresh-brewed coffee from Rickshaw Roasters, ice-cold beer from Duvel, and wine tasting from The Wine Republic – brands which are all served at the café. Not to be outdone, and wanting to serve something kid friendly, Switch Café had free pours of its very own refreshing lemonade. The kids (and adults) enjoyed the drinks and eats, especially the gelato and cotton candy.
In order to better serve the Shunyi community, Switch Café has been experimenting with items on their menu and Switch welcomes comments about their food and restaurant. They have a kids’ corner, healthy food options for children, and want the café to be a family destination. Although not ready yet, the manager did tell Beijing Kids that they plan to start their delivery service soon.
